The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, has appointed Prof. Titus Ebenezer Kwofie as the Acting Head of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit at the Quality Assurance and Planning Office (QAPO).
Prof. Kwofie, an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at KNUST, is an academic and chartered architect with extensive expertise in Building Informatics, Housing, Construction Technology, and Construction Project Management with particular emphasis on communication and managerial efficiency in the construction industry.
He also serves as a Senior Research Associate at the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, University of Johannesburg, South Africa, contributing to research collaborations that advance innovation and sustainability in the built environment across Africa.
At KNUST, Prof. Kwofie has served in several leadership roles, including College Examinations Officer, Faculty Examinations Officer for the Faculty of Built Environment, Departmental Examination Officer, and Deputy Coordinator of Undergraduate Programmes in the Department of Architecture. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses, delivering an annual lecture in research methodology, and has been actively involved in curriculum design, academic quality enhancement, and mentoring.
He has served on numerous statutory and ad-hoc committees within the University and has represented KNUST on various professional, national, and international platforms. Prof. Kwofie has also reviewed for several indexed national and international journals and conferences and has participated in diverse construction, housing, and research projects across Ghana and other African countries.
His appointment is expected to further strengthen KNUST’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards, continuous improvement, and global competitiveness in higher education quality assurance
